Individual organizers from Symbiosis Federation, Libertarian Socialist Caucus, Autonomous Tenant Union Network and Industrial Workers of the World are coming together to organize a North American Dual Power get together for the summer of 2022!

Over the past several decades organizers across North America have built independent working class organizations in our communities, workplaces and neighborhoods. We are fighting to create the bottom-up resistance necessary to confront capitalism and white supremacy with solidarity and mutual aid.

The past five years have seen an intensification of open rebellion against the forces of oppression and exploitation. Out of these struggles a renewed commitment to dual power has become blatantly necessary. Organizations led by those most marginalized, including colonized, indigenous women and queer folks, are actively fighting back against capital, the settler state, racism, empire, ableism, and patriarchy.

We are seeking to bring together people and organizations who have been on the front lines of these fights for a weekend of discussion, skill building, sharing lessons learned, strategizing and networking by members of:

  • Tenant unions
  • Worker Cooperatives and Cooperative networks
  • Food sovereignty/Permaculture/Urban Agriculture projects
  • Mutual aid networks
  • Rank and file/Solidarity unions
  • Community and Regional assemblies
  • Labor councils
  • Abolitionist/prisoner support organizations
  • Solidarity economy organizations
  • Community defense networks
  • Street Medic and harm reduction collectives
  • Workers centers
  • Houseless unions
  • Autonomous Indigenous Communities
  • Environmental Direct Action/Water Protector networks
  • Intentional communities/housing cooperatives and Community Land Trusts

Organizers of Dual Power 2022 are committed to holding an accessible event organized along disability justice principles, language accessibility as well as provide child watch. If you have specific individual or organizational requests or questions please feel free to reach out to us at any point through our organizational form. We’d like to extend an open invitation to groups and individuals invested in developing dual power throughout North America.
